It was a pleasant surprise to see a fully equipped kitchenette with high-quality utensils. Very clean and spacious room. Only suggestion for the hotel management is, please provide at-least 3 chairs; for a double queen bed suite, 2 chairs are not sufficient. The noises from the lobby and hall can be heard from the rooms which can disturb your sleep. The management should take care of this. There was no toothpaste in the bathroom. For tea, coffee etc, one have to ask at the front desk. Hotel does not provide any info on travel guide/sight-seeing. One have to plan ahead and get all the info about sight-seeing themselves.

Our family has stayed in this hotel countless times since it opened in 2009. We've noticed a slow decline with wear & tear and maintenance issues over the years. Room renovations are needed, for sure! We were pleased with the breakfast area and friendly staff during our recent stay, Aug. 28-31. The busy front desk needs more help during the day. The hotel's location is ideal, great oceanfront views and situated along the busy boardwalk. Easy parking in the attached garage was convenient & free. Of concern, our room (#301) was very damp/humid and warm all during our stay despite the AC on 60 degrees, obviously it was not working properly. The ceiling directly above the AC unit had what looked like an area of splotchy black spots (mold?). That made us wonder when both of us developed slight sore throats along with respiratory symptoms on our 3rd day. The bathroom was ok, but in need of TLC. The tub spout has detached away from the wall; is water getting behind the wall? We hope there'll be room renovations done very soon or we'll look elsewhere next time.

I saw some of the reviews for this place, after I stayed here. I was surprised at the confusion. Clearly all the issues mentioned did not meet me here. it is a nice hotel that is exterior corridor which does not allow pets. Staff is wonderful and caring in each instance that does not deserve what is published here on this site. Also management should be proud of what they are doing here in the most positive way. Rooms are clean and newly renovated. Lots of places to eat with 2 shopping malls within walking distance. Rest assured I will be back to check out the area on my next stay.

The hotel itself was CLEAN! From the lobby to the breakfast area to the lobby to our room, it was just clean. It was so refreshing to see the hotel so cared for. Our room was spotless, I always take wipes to clean hotel rooms we stay in, I will admit this is the first hotel I did not find dirt. The breakfast was different everyday of the week, each day there were ate least three hot choices, fresh waffles, and tons of regular fare like cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt etc. The staff was amazing. I did not talk to the front desk much, but the staff at breakfast and our room attendant were very nice. We ordered pizza one night and sat in the expanded lobby area, fun. And the pool was nice sized. I read in some of the reviews prior to leaving that the hotel was older. Maybe, but I saw nothing that was not nice, clean and in perfect shape. The location was right on the boardwalk beach, with a shower for our feet right outside the front door, great location. We will definatly stay here again.

the staff is very friendly. Room was clean and even though it needed some updating it was not terrible. Parking lot was well lit and seemed safe. The first night we ate at the in-house restaurant and they were understaffed. It took a long time but we didn't need to go find a place late in the evening. Overall we enjoyed our time here and would stay again. The people were really pleasant!

Let me say this is my 3rd vacation here and the WORST. WE drove 9 hours for this trip ! I booked a one bedroom suite and paid a premium for it. Sadly I had more cons than pro's. Here we go.... I KNOW its post-covid and things are different BUT--it does NOT give a hotel ”carte blanche” to give you horrible service. Con's: 1. WE checked in and noticed no chair on oceanfront balcony, I called 4 times in 12 hours and had to wait 24 hours to get one. 2. The furniture in the one bed room suite. We had a couch with chaise, 4 chair dinette--the couch with build in chaise you sank to the floor. It was AWEFUL. It hurt our backs and it was not comfortable at all(it was very old, used and saggy). A couch found on a curb in front of a frat house would be more comfy. I will say the two queen beds were very comfy. 3. The Room--We had to clean our rooms, empty the trash, put our dirty towels in a basket outside our room, request our towels-trash can liners, shampoo. We also had to VACUUM THE ROOM OURSELVES. I requested our room swept after 3 days and after 3 or 4 requests and RUNNING after a maintenance man did I get a vacuum. It was handed to me--(I had called front desk multiple times, never did anyone come)-so I swept my suite myself. 4, Our room was adjacent the ice machine and there was a tall trash can there. Many rooms dumped their trash bags there and once can was filled they put it on the floor. I called front desk AGAIN 3/4 times over 2 days. Finally on the 4 th day it was emptied. 5. Front Desk. Towards the end of my stay, I walked to the front desk and there was an employee roll her eyes when she saw me coming--maybe it was because she was very visibly pregnant ?? There was a nice man there--and he tried, he name was ”Damon”? 6. Laundry Room on 6th Floor. There was TONS AND I MEAN TONS of lint, dryer sheets and trash on the floor. There was a trash can in the laundry but am not sure why floor was filthy with trash. Pros: People this hotel has the best out door pool in Virginia Beach. Its always clean and it has a hot tub, plenty of umbrellas and chairs. The staff outside were very nice, and accommadating. The bar drinks were awesome and priced reasonable. Also the food at the bar was very good. Breakfast was not bad. It had low fat items. Only complaint here my daughter loves peanut butter toast--this Hotel had no peanut butter and no bread to toast. So we bought bread and peanut butter at the local store. Hotel grounds was clean as was garage, and common areas. Maybe the person running the pool should run the hotel? Sadly I won't be back. I may never return to a Marriott property again after this. If I am going to pay what I paid for this vacation, I will rent a VBRO for I got no pampering, no service inside, and it felt like I was a maid for a week.

Difficult to book conference venue it almost seemed as if they didn't want the business. 2 week training conference with 3 people staying at the hotel. General appearance of both the hotel and the staff attitude could be summed up at dingy, tired and lackadaisical! House keeping is largely non-existent (on demand) and the hallways are daily clogged with the garbage from the extended stay guests. Laundry rooms are filthy and 1 of 6 machine was working during our stay, except for 3 of the 14 days where the laundry room was closed for repairs . The restaurant attached to the hotel couldn't figure out their opening hours, their menu or their staffing priorities. The final straw was having to wait 45 mins after the posted opening hour to have breakfast. The management staff response to these concerns was to identify themselves as front desk staff, not responsible for the restaurant and apparently unconcerned about hotel services (or lack thereof) for the hotel guests. I would not recommend this Hotel for overnight stays, family visits or business/professional venues. I have recommended to my employer that this particular hotel be taken off our standing list of venues in the Virginia Beach area.

Great Bayfront location away from the congestion and craziness of the Ocean Front area. Lovely hotel, Great Beach, Nice Pool, Very Light, Bright and Clean but the best part is their Staff! Friendly, Knowledgeable, Professional, always able to make area suggestions for whateveryou'relookingfor. Great location for a family reunion, wedding/renew your vows on the beach. The only reason they didn't get 5* was this stay we notices several inconsistencies in the Delta Pantry (for certain marriott bonvoy members) as well as in the restaurant. We have always enjoyed the Tin Cup but we're disappointed in the difference between what was on the menu and what had been eliminated but was still listed. Ordered the same breakfast 2 mornings and they were totally different. Small portion of spinach crab dip was yummy but small for $17. Same with Caesar salad and bronzed fish. We'll keep going back as we know they have had recent management changes.

Shower nozzle came off a couple times, NO hot water the majority of the time, put in room for a person with disabilities but not needed, tub had black and pink mold around it, no trashcan in bathroom, stand for suitcase ”gnawed and wobbled badly”, a/c and ventilation did not work - called maintenance and they never showed, dried blood on the comforter, coffee maker gross and looked rusty, RATS- one came down from 2nd story balcony while we were on the patio outside the restaurant pretty sure from someone's room, no lighting on a few floors, only 1 elevator worked out of three, we used stairs the whole time and even if we needed the cart would have to go out, cross between buildings (which the ceiling was coming down between), hot tub never available as I found out the last day the ”PH balance was too high” so they closed it, ordered food from the restaurant - appetizer bacon wrapped scallops - $20 for TWO and when it came out there was a long hair on it, needless to say my appetite was lost for the evening. Ice machine didn't work except the 8th floor until 4 nights later, tiles in the floor not glued down, found a couple of those not very friendly for disabled individuals if I had been in this situation. Staff so/so depending on the function. When I went to check out I brought up my concerns and the girl at the front desk asked if I had called maintenance, which I let her know I had in fact called and they never showed. Others were complaining of carpets in their room smelling of urine - they allow pets in the hotel. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone ever.

We needed a hotel close to the airport for a one night stay prior to going to OBX. We didn't have a car but used the hotel's shuttle service with no issues. Staff here was very friendly and very accommodating. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the bathroom was clean and nicely updated. My roommate did have a problem with a cold shower but we were up early so maybe she was one of the first to use it?? I had no issues shortly afterwards. Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast, nothing special but it was fine and we were able to find things we liked. Overall a very good stay.

I asked for privacy (Grade-5). I asked for Nonsmoking (Grade-1). Condition of furniture-rust under microwave (Grade-1). So I changed rooms..complete turnaround (Grade-5). BUT my key would not work requiring MULTIPLE trips to get replacements (grade-2). So after I settled in, it was average, BUT it took my assertiveness to get there. I should not have had to see rust under ANY circumstances. Silence in the hotel business is considered complacency. Staff should report up & make mgmt look good. Mgmt should make condition reporting a normalcy so they CAN look good.

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to family we were visiting. It is clean and comfortable, except for the heating/AC. The outside temperatures were in the mid-50s. The unit could not be set for heating or cooling but only to the desired temperature. When it was on, the air blowing was freezing. When it was off, the room got uncomfortably warm. Still, the room was very quiet and otherwise comfortable and well furnished. We were especially impressed by the staff. The housekeeper spoke to us in a very friendly tone each time we encountered her in the hall. The receptionist spoke to us each time we passed the desk. The woman coordinating the breakfast spoke to all as she arrived and the one time we passed her in the hall, she greeted us in a very friendly manner. She was attentive about replenishing the food and kept the serving area very clean. The food was typical ”free hot breakfast” but always fresh and quickly replenished. The make-your-own waffles were better than most such waffles at other hotels.

My daughters favorite hotel on the beach - and the extra amenities for families allows me to work from the hotel if necessary - while my munchkin still has fun.. she loves the kids club even at 10 y/o and the private mini movie theater because she can go ”by herself” since I am only a few feet away. The indoor lazy river pool is a huge hit - and clean and maintained. The outdoor pool is BEACHFRONT..almost in the sand its so well located. The few times we have stayed there the staff was always above and beyond helpful.Downfalls - The A/C units could use an upgrade and the breakfast spot needs some decor upgrades but the food is REAL (not ”pretend scrambled eggs” ) and well prepared and service is good. I wouldn't consider it a ”Luxury” hotel and the seasonal prices are equal to the fancy competitors but I guess that depends on how you define luxury - my daughter would choose this hotel over the new Hilton without question.

I am writing because there has been questionable reviews on this hotel. I went for 4 nights mid July with my daughter. We stayed in a 2 room suite on the 2nd floor. Staff - all very nice and friendly from the front desk to maintenance and housekeeping. Our key needed to be re-magnitized multiple times, no issue. My rental car's battery died and a maintenance worker brought his own car over to help. Parking - yes it is a small lot, what would you expect on ocean? I only had one late night where I had to park around the corner. It is short walk, no issues. Location - perfect! You can walk to so many restaurants and shop too. The beach access was great and if you want to rent a chair, there is a spot without walking far. We had a great trip and would definitely stay again.

Great hotel for families - right across the street from the beach and boardwalk. Within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Hotel was recently renovated and rooms are spacious and clean. Our room had two Queen beds and pull out couch so perfect for larger families. Bathroom is fairly small but wasn’t a problem for us. Pool area is small - we didn’t really come for the pool and spent most of our time at the beach which was beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful! Free parking was also a bonus. I would definitely stay again!

Despite poor internet reception and a hard bed, this hotel is superior. I used to stay at a competitor for several years but time and Covid has taken a toll on it. Our last 3 visits have all been at this hotel. Location can’t be beat and the staff is very accommodating and pleasant. We visit several hotels and staffing doesn’t compare to the diamonds they have here. Looking forward to our next getaway and it will definitely be here.

Had 8 night stay in 1 Bedroom suite with family of 5. Let’s start with the positives. Location is perfect, beachfront hotel on northern end of the boardwalk with many places to eat and shop within walking distance. The room itself was clean and spacious, newer decor and kitchen with full amenities. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and all service requests were fulfilled quickly. As others have said, there is limited parking on site but the valet service was great. They were prompt, never having to wait long. It could have been much better with just a little more effort. We got off to rough start as our room was not ready and we had to wait 2.5 hours, mostly sitting around in lobby as we kept being told it was almost ready. Although we were compensated appropriately, the communication could have been better. Then we had to wait on towels as the linen truck did not arrive until after 11. This seemed to be a re-occurring theme for the entire trip so stock up on towels to avoid being without. When we finally were able to take showers, there was no hot water and had similar issues throughout trip. The balconies, although ocean front, were very small and unenjoyable as the air conditioner unit was loud and blowing hot air on you. The complimentary breakfast was decent but the choices did not change day to day and they always seemed to be out of something. I give it a 4 rating based on potential with understanding it was probably busier than usual week of 4th of July. Again, the staff was great and if the hotel can address some of the stated concerns it could be a real nice hotel. Overall, it was a decent stay and affordable compared to other hotels in area.

The pool area is great, kiddie pool, indoor pool and outdoor pool with a bar (very priced drinks but good food). Overnight someone above vomited down hitting the railing and spraying our patio. It took 3 calls with promises of sending someone up and 7 hrs before anyone came. I eventually called corporate Hilton and then someone came. Found a used a q tip under the bedroom chair and a few barettes and toys in the pull out sofa. No top sheets or bottom sheets for sofa. The location is great, not far from Neptune Park. I’d be uneasy staying again given the cleaning issues. The front desk staff at check out was nice enough to waive resort fees when I told her that it was so long to have the patio cleaned.

The Bad: Can't believe room had ZERO towels! ZERO pillows! No TV! Sink only had a little more than a drip for running water! Air Conditioner was basically a fan only. Was charged an additional few dollars that Priceline didn't cover supposedly. Thank goodness I just needed a place to crash for travel. Parking was very limited and super tight to get into a spot. By the looks of the foyer, I seriously doubt there was any kind of breakfast whatsoever, 'nor would I want any. I came in late during travel and just decided to crash and leave after sunrise without a shower so I didn't ask office for towels. Never again. The Good: Night lady was really friendly, location is perfect.

What a pity that in such a central location, there is little pleasure to be had from staying at this hotel. The receptionist was cold and unsmiling, with not a hint of welcome. The room had a decent bed, but with only a sheet and cover. There were two polyester blankets on a shelf and I had to unzip them and put both on the bed to get reasonably warm in the cold and windy May weather. The room heater/cooler is a metal box attached to the wall right next to one of the beds. Every time the thermostat turns it on or off the noise is enough to jolt you awake. I ended up wearing foam earplugs. There is no breakfast available in the hotel, and no microwaves in the rooms. Although arriving by car is pretty much the only option, parking is charged at $7 plus tax a night. After leaving here, I checked in at a hotel of similar standard and vintage at my next destination, Ocean City, and the contrast was striking: a super friendly receptionist, a full comforter on the bed, a restaurant with breakfast for purchase and free parking. There are dozens of other options along Virginia Beach: choose one of them instead of this place.

My stay at the Sea View was amazing!!! While attending school and had an extend stay at the Sea View from December to April. Rob, Shawnteé, Danfore, Holly, and Melissa made me feel like I was at home. I was truly sad to leave. I’m excited to come back to Virginia so I can see them all again. The experience with them alone makes me want to stay at the hotel again, that doesn’t even account for the fact that the Sea View is in the BEST location. Soon as you get off the highway it’s on the left, and very easy to hop back onto the highway. No one ever has trouble finding it. It’s got access right to the boardwalk/beach and if u go out the front you are on Atlantic Ave within walking distance of everything you could need; restaurants, stores, mini golf, indoor skydiving, bars and clubs. I would say 6 out of 5 stars, best place you will find in Virginia Beach.

On my way to Chincoteague, VA I made a quick stop in Virginia Beach. I stayed here because the TripAdvisor Reviews were good. This is a really nice Red Roof Inn. There appears to be a fridge and microwave in every room. Check in was quick and no hassle. The room was very clean. There was a soap and a shampoo in the tub with plenty of towels. The cable TV is excellent. It has several HBO channels and a variety of regular cable channels. The vending and ice machines are convenient. The wi-fi is good also. Some disappointments. The lobby is closed, so there is no coffee. There is also not a coffee maker in the room. You will have to go to a store off property to buy it. But there is a Dunkin, Panera, McDonalds and several convenience stores very close. Also, this is obviously an older motel so there are very few electrical outlets in the room. Usually there are some on the lamps or close to the bed. There was only one available on the wall across from the bed on the wall. And there is one by the vanity near the sink. There is a nice desk where you would normally put your computer to use, there there are no electrical outlets anywhere near the desk. So if you're staying here, it is a good place but be prepared. Bring extension cords and a coffee maker!! But it is definitely one of the better Red Roof Inns I've stayed at!
